Overview
CATALYST 1.0, a flagship technical series by IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter, LBSCEK, was inaugurated on 13 August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, AD Block, LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod, with 130 participants in attendance. The event featured Dr. Mohammad Sekoor T., Principal of LBS College of Engineering, Kasaragod, who delivered the Presidential Address. The programme also featured Dr. Rajashree Raghavan, Branch Counsellor, IEEE SB LBSCEK, and Vrinda K. P., Chairperson, IEEE SB LBSCEK, who felicitated the gathering, along with Dr. Baby Sindhu A. V., Advisor, IEEE PES SBC LBSCEK, who proposed the vote of thanks. The welcome address was delivered by Naeem Mohammed, Secretary, IEEE PES SBC LBSCEK, and the series was introduced by Mohammed Sharafudheen, Chair, IEEE PES SBC LBSCEK. The series was officially inaugurated by Er. Suhaskrishnan K. V., Chartered Electrical Engineer and Managing Partner, Nextwatt Engineers & Consultants, who also delivered Event 01, a talk session titled "The Energy Internet: How Electric Vehicles, Battery Storage, and AI Will Redefine the Power Grid." Certificates were provided to all participants.
