Overview
IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter of LBS College of Engineering, in association with the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter, organized an Expert Talk on "Fault Diagnosis in Transformers" under the IEEE PES Student Distinguished Lecturer Program. The session was delivered by IEEE PES Distinguished Lecturer Dr. Sivaji Chakravorti, who provided valuable insights into transformer health monitoring and modern fault diagnosis techniques. The session covered common transformer faults, insulation condition, condition monitoring, and Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA), highlighting their importance in maintaining the reliability and health of power transformers. The session helped participants understand how different diagnostic methods can be used to identify developing faults and assess transformer conditions. An interactive question-and-answer session provided students and faculty members with an opportunity to clarify their technical queries and engage directly with the speaker.
Participation
Students, faculty members, and IEEE participants attended the online session. Interactive Q&A and feedback activities were conducted.
